Pride and Prejudice

Pride and Prejudice (2005)

Mr. Darcy--mysterious, proud, noble, and shy

Mr. Darcy: "Miss Elizabeth, I have struggled in vain and I can bear it no longer. These past months have been a torment. I came to Rosings with the single object of seeing you...I have fought against my better judgment, my family's expectations, the inferiority of your birth by rank and circumstance. All these things I am willing to put aside and ask you to end my agony.
Elizabeth: "I don't understand."
Mr. Darcy: "I love you."

Elizabeth Bennett--witty, sensible, thoughtful, and strong-willed

Elizabeth(to her friend Charlotte): "Did I just agree to dance with Mr. Darcy?"
Charlotte: "I dare say you find him amiable."
Elizabeth: "It would be most inconvenient since I have sworn to loathe him for all eternity."

Elizabeth: "Do you dance, Mr. Darcy?"
Mr. Darcy: "Not if I can help it."

Mr.Bingley--sociable, witty, and optimistic...it seems his poor choice in hairstyles is his only fault:)

Jane Bennett--quiet, caring, courteous, and wise

Jane (speaking of Mr. Bingley): "He is just what a young man ought to be."

Four Bennett girls with their father (Mary, Kitty, Elizabeth, and Jane)

Mr. Bennett (speaking of Mr. Darcy's proposal): "I don't believe that anyone can deserve you, but it appears I am overruled. So, I heartily give my consent."
Elizabeth: "Thank you!"
Mr. Bennett: "I could not have parted with you, my Lizzie, to anyone less worthy."

Georgiana, Darcy's sister--talented, kind, and sweet-natured

Georgiana: "Do you play duets, Miss Bennett?"
Elizabeth: "Only when forced."
Georgiana (to Darcy): "Brother, you must force her."

Mr. Darcy in the famous rain scene

Elizabeth (playing the piano): "You mean to frighten me, Mr. Darcy, by coming in all your state to hear me, but I won't be alarmed, even if your sister does play so well."
Mr. Darcy: "I am well enough acquainted with you, Miss Elizabeth, to know that I cannot alarm you, even should I wish it."

Mr. Darcy (to Elizabeth): "You have bewitched me, body and soul, and I love...I love...I love you."

Darcy and Georgiana (Someday, I hope to play the piano as beautifully as Georgiana does)

Elizabeth: "I thought you were in London."
Mr. Darcy: "No...No, I'm not."

Mr. Collins, a cousin of the Bennetts--how to describe this character? presumptuous, arrogant, and hilarious without trying to be...P & P wouldn't be the same without him:)
Mr. Collins: "Excellent boiled potatoes. It's been many years since I had such an exemplary vegetable."
